Why Join Us?
At Pramac Generac Australia, we don’t just supply power. We keep critical industries running when it matters most. As part of the global Generac Group, we are a world leader in power generation solutions, delivering innovative, reliable, and sustainable energy systems to commercial, industrial, and infrastructure clients across the globe.
We’re growing fast. With major data centre projects and national expansion underway, Pramac Australia is on track to become one of the largest Generac subsidiaries globally. This role sits right at the heart of that growth.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Service Technician / Electrician to join our team in Minto, New South Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrician looking for something different from traditional sparky work, an experienced Generator Tech, or a motivated 3rd/4th Year Apprentice eager to learn a specialised, high-demand trade.
No direct generator experience? No worries.
We are completely happy to train the right person. If you are responsible, hard-working, pick things up quickly, and have a genuine desire to learn, we will invest heavily in your training and development.
What You’ll Bring
We are after hands-on technicians, comfortable around large machinery or heavy equipment, and eager to learn.
We want to hear from you if you are:
An Electrician: A current full Electrical Licence (or relevant limited/auto electrical licence) looking for a dynamic alternative to standard commercial or domestic work.
An Apprentice: A 3rd or 4th-year electrical apprentice who is close to qualifying and has a strong work ethic.
An Experienced Gen Tech: Someone who already knows their way around generators, engines, or heavy plant diagnostics and wants a step up.
General Requirements:
A valid Australian driver’s licence and comfort driving a service ute.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics/wiring diagrams and work through faults logically (or a clear appetite to learn quickly).
A customer-service mindset. You know how to represent the company professionally on-site.
A responsible, reliable attitude with a maturity to work independently when required.
What You’ll Be Doing
Service, repair, and maintain diesel standby generator sets across Sydney and wider NSW.
Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and electrical repairs on units up to 4,000 kVA.
Support the testing and commissioning of new generator systems, transfer switches, and control gear.
Split your time between field work (customer sites) and workshop work (testing and preparing new units).
Work independently on smaller service jobs and in pairs on testing, load banks, and larger commissioning.
Act as the face of the business on-site, dealing professionally with facilities managers, site contacts, and end-users.
What’s In It For You?
High Earning Potential: Competitive hourly rate + lucrative overtime penalties (time-and-a-half and double time). Strong earning potential if you like extra hours.
Fully Maintained Vehicle: Company service ute (tooled up, sign-written, and taken home) + company phone, laptop, and tablet.
Premium Projects: Exposure to major data centre projects and complex commissioning work as the business expands.
Career Progression: Long-term growth opportunities as Pramac expands across NSW, VIC, WA, and QLD.
The Best of Both Worlds: The backing of a global power generation leader with the feel of a tight-knit local team.
Safety First: All PPE and safety equipment supplied. We take safety seriously and invest in the right gear.
Variety: A genuine mix of field-based customer sites and workshop-based testing. No two weeks look the same.
